Draft Future Land Use Plan

In August of 2022, the Nash County Planning Department released the draft materials for the proposed new Future Land Use Plan to the public in a series of open meetings. The materials presented at those meetings – including the Public Meeting Presentation, Poster Boards, Plan Recommendations, Future Land Use Map, and Character Area Descriptions – may be reviewed below. The Plan Steering Committee will study the feedback received on these materials and consider adjustments to the plan. The dates and times of future public meetings to consider the adoption of the final plan will be announced in the coming weeks.

The online comment form on the Draft Future Land Use Plan is now closed. Further comments can be directed to the Nash County Planning Department.

Existing Conditions Summary

Early in the planning process for the Future Land Use Plan, the project team collected data from different county, state, and federal sources and compiled this information into a summary of the existing conditions of Nash County. This information was presented at the first steering committee, and can be found in the attached presentation.
